Come meet Hans Porter in person and learn first hand what drew him to beautiful, unique Port Protection, Alaska!
Since a large part of the adventure is the journey to and from Port Protection, consult with us so we can assist you. You would fly to Ketchikan or Wrangell, booking a flight with Taquan Air, being dropped off at Port Protection on a float plane. Your specific goals and ideas will be discussed and plans for your magnificent trip will be reviewed and finalized.
Hans will meet and greet you at the dock and take you to the lodge.
As another option, guests could rent a car in Ketchikan and take the Alaska State Ferry from Ketchikan to Hollis. From Hollis you would drive about 95 scenic miles north, passing through the Rain Forest where you will see deer, bear and other wildlife as you continue to the end of the road. Hans will meet you there, boating you to Port Protection. This may require an over night stay on Prince of Whales Island, staying at Craig, Alaska then continuing your journey and adventure.
This year, we’ve added meals to your entire wilderness experience, prepared by Han’s mother Jan. Jan’s food service experience is extensive; she is an excellent chef! You will be treated to local cuisine to satisfy your appetites. Kitchen will be open 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Hans and his Team will work with you to schedule fishing and touring. At the end of the day, join us at the bon fire for fish cleaning and story telling.
Enrich your life time experience with Hans Porter and enjoy the wonders of Alaska as the last Frontier!
